Air:
The Palm Springs International Airport is a 25-minute scenic drive from Palm Desert. The newly remodeled airport hosts a number of scheduled carriers including Alaska, American, and America West. Ontario International Airport, an hour and 15 minute drive from Palm Desert, boasts an extensive schedule of flights. For access by private plane, Bermuda Dunes Aviation Airport and Desert Resort Regional Airport in Thermal are available.

Rail:
Amtrak has stations in nearby Palm Springs and Indio.
